How to get to Cambridge
Click here to download a detailed street map of Cambridge Important: Please do not book your travel until you have registered and your registration and accommodation bookings have been confirmed. AirLondon Stansted Airport is the closest major airport and is about 30 miles from Cambridge (40 minutes by car). Cambridge is within easy reach by rail, coach or taxi and the railway station is part of the terminal. The times of trains between Stansted Airport and Cambridge can be found from the National Rail web site. Coach services from Stansted Airport to Cambridge run once per hour, and the journey takes about 50 minutes. Tickets can be purchased from the coach ticket desk in the arrivals area of the terminal or on the coach. Details of other major airports are as follows. Please note journey times are dependant on traffic.

London Heathrow: TaxiTaxi is also another quick way to get to the city and also direct to the West Road Concert Hall. Taxis are available outside Stansted Airport, Cambridge Railway Station and Cambridge Bus Station. If you want to book in advance see the links below for some companies that would be able to help:

Direct coach services operate between London Victoria and Cambridge and all the major airports. Times and fares can be found at www.nationalexpress.com. A low-cost coach service between Oxford and Cambridge is operated by Megabus. Long-distance coach services are run by National Express. TrainInformation about UK train services is available at www.nationalrail.co.uk Cambridge Railway Station is located a mile southeast of the city centre and there are frequent bus services that run between the station and the city centre including the Stagecoach Cambridge services Citi 1, Citi 3 and Citi 7. The West Road Concert Hall is a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride from the railway station and taxis can be found in the queue outside the station. If you are coming from the North it is advisable to change at Peterborough. Trains run regularly to Cambridge Railway Station from both London King's Cross and London Liverpool Street. The journey time of the faster Kings Cross strains (Cambridge Cruiser trains) is about 45 minutes, while the other trains are slower and take around 70 minutes. There is a direct train service from London Stansted Airport to Cambridge Railway Station. The service takes about 30 minutes and is operated by Central Trains. The service operates seven days a week and train times and fares between Stansted Airport and Cambridge can be found on the National Rail website. If you do choose to drive into the city there are some car parks.
For more information on parking go to: Cambridgeshire County Council run a 'Park and Ride' service from Madingley Road, just off Junction 13 of the M11 to the West of Cambridge. Take the Citi 4 bus (which runs from Monday to Friday) and alight at 'West Road University stop', which is approximately 50 metres from the West Road Concert Hall.
